SPH-K 450: Programming for Age-Associated Medical Conditions

Class meets 100% Online through Asynchronous instruction
This course will provide undergraduate students with an introduction to exercise prescription for older adults with age-related conditions. This course is designed to provide practical information for students headed into exercise or health-related fields as well as for those who just want to learn more about how to exercise as they and their families age. After completing this course, students will gain an understanding of age-related changes, normal and abnormal physiological responses to exercise, the benefits and risks of exercise, the pathophysiology, risk factors, and impact of age-specific conditions, exercise prescription and considerations for older adults with these specific age-related conditions, and available community evidence-based exercise programming.
