Social Determinants of Health

The session will be led by Andrea Janota, MPH, who is the Director of the IUPUI ECHO Center and adjunct faculty with the Department of Epidemiology at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. After attending the workshop, students will be able to define social determinants of health and how they impact an individual’s health, give examples of the relationship between health, community and social determinants of health, recognize how individual health and community are related and analyze how social determinants of health can impact an individuals’ person health and the health of the community

This workshop is part of the IPE Improving Social Justice series. The primary purpose of the program is to foster the development of interprofessionalism among participants. Each academic year, there will be four workshops. Two in the fall semester and two in the spring. To earn the certification of completion, participants must complete three of four workshops.
