IU Health Rotational Shadowing Program
The IU School of Public Health-Bloomington is partnering with the IU Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine clinics to offer pre-professional students an opportunity to shadow multiple disciplines at one site, gaining exposure to the day in the life of an In-Clinic Athletic Trainer, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Physician Assistant.
Each cohort will be made up of 4 students. The selected students will spend one hour with each discipline. During this experience, students will shadow direct one-on-one patient care based on an orthopedic diagnosis and will gain a better understanding of the different roles each discipline plays in the management of that condition.
All students are expected to abide by the state of Indiana’s HIPAA laws and follow IU Health’s policies for the protection of Personal Health Information (PHI). No direct care will be requested or permitted by IU SPH-B students.
You will need to complete the registration linked here to be considered. If selected, you will be contacted directly by a member of the IU Health team with next steps and final logistic information.
NOTE: All participants must utilize independent transportation to and from the shadowing sites.
