BEAM is designed to equip public health students and rising public health professionals with the practical, applicable business knowledge and tools that drive innovation and success in the field of public health. The 15- to 20-hour interactive certificate program is based on six areas public health professionals have identified as learning priorities: Strategic Problem Definition, Budgeting, Procurement Contracts, Contract Monitoring, and Financial Health.
BEAM is the only business program of its kind for public health professionals seeking the financial and managerial skills needed to build their careers, advance their workplace and the public health profession nationwide. Reflecting real-world experiences, BEAM was developed by nationally recognized public health thought leaders and experts at the University of Miami and the de Beaumont Foundation to support the next generation of public health professionals.
