The CDC Foundation seeks an energetic, relationship-oriented senior advancement officer with 5+ years of fundraising leadership and experience (preferably in the health sciences arena) to join our Public-Private Partnership Team. The Senior Advancement Officer will report to the Associate Vice President for Advancement and be an integral member of a dynamic team of front-line fundraisers building public-private partnerships between CDC and primarily philanthropies, corporations and organizations. This professional will establish and maintain contact with partners to assess their interest and invite their participation in public health projects to support the CDC. Additionally, this professional will build relationships with CDC scientists and researchers, guiding them on how to work with the CDC Foundation and helping them to assess resource needs ripe for public-private partnership. The Senior Advancement Officer must have the ability to create and execute fundraising strategies for complex, multi-partner projects that require multiple sources of funding. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced professional with a track record of building engaging donor relationships and securing gifts in the 6- to 7-figure+ range. This position will be a full time position at 40 hours a week.

- Cultivate existing and potential partners to secure resources to support CDC projects.
- Develop and finalize fundraising correspondence, proposals, budgets, agreements, and stewardship materials for donors and prospects.
- Assist in the creation of stewardship plans and participate in stewardship activities as necessary.
- Lead and facilitate effective meetings with diverse partners.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the CDC Foundation's and CDC's priorities and programs to use as a basis for proposals; maintain a high level of knowledge about programs to discuss and present to donors, prospects and members of the public health community.
- Ensure compliance regarding gift acceptance.
- Represent the Foundation with a wide range of external constituencies, including public health and other organizations, foundations, corporations, potential donors and CDC colleagues.
