Health & WellnessVolunteer Internship

Area 10 Agency on Aging Endwright Center is a senior center providing health and wellness programs, educational programs, music and arts, social groups for Euchre, Single Seniors, Nightengale Choir, and Fiber Arts.  It’s a busy senior center open Monday through Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm serving individuals ages 50 and older.  Our members come in to participate in a variety or specific classes or programs.  The center facilities are multi-functional in space usage with fitness equipment and class rooms.

The Endwright Center is staffed with a full-time Director, part-time Health and Wellness Coordinator.  The director has a degree from Indiana State University in Parks and Recreation with a career path serving as CEO of YMCA’s as well as other non-profit organizations.  The Health and Wellness Coordinator has a degree in the field of health.  Recently Kris became certified in evidence-based programs for Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, Walk with Ease, and Active Living Every Day.

The Endwright Center will be seeking volunteer interns to assist and/or teach classes in the area of wellness education or fitness activities.

Skills we are seeking in candidates include being knowledgeable in health and wellness issues of seniors and having people skills that provide excellent customer service.  Interns have the opportunity to develop and implement programs of interest to them.
