This past Wednesday, the School of Public Health, School of Education, and School of Social Work hosted their IU Health and Human Services Career Day! There was a great turnout – more than 50 employers were in attendance to engage with students.
The day started the day off with a DEI&B session – Workplaces Doing it Right: Fostering Inclusion and Belonging. The event featured a panel with executive members from Eli Lilly, IU Health, and the Middle Way House, who spent the hour discussing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in their companies.
Later in the morning, the employer fair started in Alumni Hall. The turnout was great, with so many employers and students networking. Some of our premium employers included Community Health Network, Community Mental Health Center, Indiana State Senate, Franciscan Health, Eli Lilly, Stone Belt, Oaklawn, LifeSpring Health Systems, Youth First, Aspire, and Overdose Lifeline. A highlight of the day was the premium swag that was handed out to students who engaged with eight or more employers!
At the end of the day, we hosted two panel events focusing on the different industry areas within Health & Human Services. The first was a panel discussion regarding burnout within the professions of counseling and social work, and also involved a wellness activity. Running parallel to the Counseling and Social Work panel, we had a panel of diverse professionals discussing career paths within Public Health and Healthcare.
Thank you to all the employers that came out to engage with students, and thank you to the students who participated!
