SPH K496 Field Experience in Kinesiology (Meadowood)

The class is an experiential learning opportunity at Meadowood Retirement Community. Be part of a team of mobility coaches that lead 2 – 30 minute activity classes with independent living residents to enhance their neuromotor system and reduce their fall risk.   Integrate fun and useful exercises such as balloon tapping, obstacle courses, wobble boards, foam cushions, corn hole, etc. Every day is different because students bring new perspective, skills, and energy to the class. This class is mostly run by the students and includes a 10-15 minute warm up before breaking into groups for “stations”. Integrate fitness and wellness concepts and coaching skills and become more confident working with the aging population. If you are interested, please email Tammy Nichols at tmnichol@indiana.edu who will send you the permission form to register.
